Professional Responsibility & Proper Product Use
At Cut The Crap Nail Supplies, we believe education should be built on accuracy, safety, and accountability.
Nail systems are not random collections of interchangeable products. They are carefully engineered formulations designed to work together as matched systems. When manufacturers provide instructions and precautions, those guidelines are not optional suggestions — they exist to ensure proper curing, optimal performance, and client safety.
Proper Curing Is Not Optional
There is no such thing as a “universal nail lamp.”
Gel systems are formulated to cure under specific wavelengths and output levels. Using a lamp not designed or specified for that system may result in:
- Incomplete polymerisation
- Product breakdown or premature lifting
- Increased exposure to uncured materials
- Higher risk of adverse skin reactions
Only the lamp specified for the system can reliably deliver the correct cure profile.
Matched Systems Exist for a Reason
The same principle applies to:
Acrylic Systems
Powders are specifically formulated to work with designated monomer blends. Mixing brands or substituting liquids can alter the chemistry of the system, affecting adhesion, strength, cure speed, and long-term wear.
Products that require a designated slip solution are engineered as matched systems. Substituting slip solutions or mixing components outside of their intended system is product misuse, not innovation.
Breaking apart systems that are designed to cure together increases the likelihood of product failure and may elevate the risk of skin sensitisation for both nail professionals and clients.
Professional Standards Matter
Using a different brand of colour over a fully cured enhancement is one thing.
Dismantling core systems designed to polymerise together is another.
Educators and professionals have a responsibility to teach and model best practices. Encouraging improper substitutions may lead to preventable service breakdown, unnecessary exposure to uncured product, and long-term sensitivity issues within our industry.
Our Position
We stand by manufacturer instructions.
We support responsible education.
We prioritise proper curing and system integrity.
Innovation in this industry is powerful but it should never come at the expense of safety or chemistry.
Matched systems exist for a reason.
Proper curing is not negotiable.
